Subject title and description :
Fight against scorpions’s envenomation: Modelization, Control Theory.
Overview of the subject
According to statitics from "le Centre Anti Poison et de Pharmacovigilance du Maroc" scorpion sting and envenimation the leading cause of poisoning in Morocco. Otherwise called scorpionism, the envenomation of humans by scorpions is undoubtedly part of the public health problems, the climatic and ecological particularity of certain regions of Morocco. A national control strategy has been put in place to better manage the problem, but one remains. In view of the scale of the scourge which constitutes a public health problem, it is important to better understand not only the functioning of scorpions but also the different characteristics of stings and envenomations on man to better predict effective solutions against this scourge. The object of this subject relates to essential points to know a rather concise study on the scorpions in general (ecology, behaviour, diet, . . .) and on the aspect of envenomation in particular; then give a model mathematical analysis of cases of envenomation while taking into account parameters such as age, area of envenomation, etc And at the end propose a biological fight..
Subject objectives:
- Find out a mathematical model which links scorpion’s density and human density and the incidence of serious stings; - Look at the incidence and mortality rates of children under 15; - Make control of some parameters in order to decrease envenomation or mortality cases; - Give a simulation of our model; - Suggest a biological fight.
Progress report
Phase 1 (In progress): construct of the mathematical model. Phase 2: Study of the models and its simulation. Phase 3: Control and biological fight.
